As your celebrant I will look after all things in the name of love! I love a celebration, a party, a moment. Every excuse to get together, to laugh a lot, weep a little and feel it all.
I love hearing and sharing stories of love and a life shared. I will bring a relaxed presence and mix it with the energy of you and your guests to create a ceremony uniquely yours.
I would love to stand in front of your guests whether it be 2 or 200, and tell your story. Then you can exchange the legal vows, you might like to add some of your own in there too, exchange rings and kiss, then I will announce you as the married couple.
In between all of that or maybe instead of,there is room for your ceremony to be whatever you want it to be! Fun, romantic, silly, traditional or a combination of it all.
Your quote includes:
Organisation and lodging of legal paperwork to Births, Deaths & Marriages, including official marriage certificate to be ordered from B,D & M and posted to you post ceremony
Planning meeting
Ongoing phone and email support in the lead up to the ceremony
Personalised ceremony script (unless you have opted for a 'Legals Only Ceremony')
Music (optional)
Portable PA system including microphone & speaker
Travel to and from the Wedding Ceremony
The Ceremony itself
*Rehearsal at the venue will be an additional cost, please know that this may not always be possible however I am happy to discuss other options.
Upon signing this contract you agree to the terms below.
1. Celebrants Responsibilities. Ali At The Altar ("Celebrant") hereby agrees to perform marriage authorisation services for Client at the Event specified above in a professional, workmanlike manner according to the prevailing standards in the industry ("Services"). Celebrant is not responsible for the impact on the final product of any interference caused by guests or other vendors at the Event.
If Celebrant is exposed to (i) unsafe conditions, or (ii) objectionable or illegal acts at the Event, Celebrant reserves the right to take reasonable action to remedy such a situation, including but not limited to leaving the Event. In such event, Celebrant shall not be obligated to refund any of the fees paid by Client because of such action.
An Authorised Marriage Celebrant must:
Take a public role in the ceremony
Identify themselves to all parties and guests
Ensure the validity of the marriage according to the law
Say the words required by the Marriage Act in the presence of all parties and guests before the marriage is solemnised (The Monitum)
Be nearby when the legal vows are exchanged (the celebrant must see and hear the legal vows)
Sign the papers as required by the Marriage Act
2. Deposit/Payment. A non-refundable deposit of 40% of the total cost is due upon execution of this agreement, at which time Celebrant commits to being available to Client on that date (subject to non-payment, reasonable emergencies). Remaining payments of the balance due for the Services shall be made as set out in the Payment Schedule. In the event that Client fails to remit payment as specified, Celebrant shall have the right to immediately terminate this Agreement with no further obligation to refund money (including the aforementioned retainer), to attend the Event or to provide paperwork.
3. Term. The term of this Agreement shall commence upon the execution of this Agreement, and shall terminate upon Celebrant's lodgement of the legal paperwork to Births, Deaths and Marriages (7 days after ceremony date).
4. Event Changes. Celebrant must be notified immediately of any changes in date, time or location. If notified by phone, a written (i.e email) confirmtion must be sent within 2 days of notification. Under circumstances that you change the date, time or location of the ceremony I will try my best to be there however this will be subject to my availablity.
5. Cancellation. Upon acceptance of these terms and payment of the deposit, Celebrant shall commit to attending the Event on the specified date, and shall make no other reservations for that date. If Client cancels, 2 months or more out from the ceremony date, payments on top of the deposit will be returned to the Client. If Client cancels within 2 months of the ceremony, 20% of the total cost will be returned to the client.
6. Content Release. Client hereby agrees that Celebrant may reproduce, publish,exhibit, and otherwise use images from the Event for instructional or marketing purposes without payment of any additional fee.
7. Celebrant cancellation. Please know that I will always aim to ensure that I am able to provide you with the service that we have decided upon, however, I must state that if in the instance I am unable to attend your ceremony due to illness or family emergency. I will do everything I can to find a celebrant who will attend in my absence. I am a part of a large community of celebrants who I can call on in these instances. I will organise with the replacement celebrant a payment, transferring the money you have or will pay me to them and paying any difference. If I can not find a replacement celebrant I would be open to organising a ceremony to marry you at an alternative time.
8. Jurisdiction. The state and federal courts serving Victoria, Australia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from this Agreement, and both parties here to consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
